I was thinking… what would the effect (on the house edge) be if there was a rule where “suited wins (i.e. any winning hand where all the cards were of the same suit) pay 11:10” is?

Ideally, I would like players to use this thread as a way of suggesting novel rule variations to blackjack. Ideally, these would also be variants that accommodated the requirements of all both basic strategy and advantage players whilst still allowing the house to make a profit over the long run.

Any ideas?

They should have a rule that if you go bust, you can pick up another card. Whatever you get, subtract it off the bust amount and if you’re still bust, you sit out a round or something.

Like, i you have 19, and get a 10, so you have 29, draw like… I dunno, a 10. That puts you back to 19 and you’re safe. If you get a 5, that goes to 24, but you’re still bust, so you loose out on a round. I dunno, I think it would be good for laughs more than anything.

Meh, seems alright to me, but not very fun. I wish I was more creative, because I would post my own variation, but, well, you know… I’m not, so…
