I was in Sydeny, Australia when I turned 18. I went to the casino with couple of friends. I went in with $250 and had never played most of the games at the casino in real life. I started on the poker for a laugh and used $10. I won $180 out of that. Moved over to the ‘limit’ poker tables because I don’t think I had enough money to be influence the no limit game enough. I won around another $200 or so there. Later in the night I moved over to the min $25 black jack tables. I worked my way up to $900 and called it quits.

Later on I played at many different casinos but my first game was the best I think.

Nice! That’s a good way to start out a gambling career. And it was a smart thing to quit when you made close to $1000. There’s no sense in making that kind of money on your first shot and then losing it all ten minutes later. Very nice.

Rightly said Shawn. Gambling is all about timing. When you start and when you stop is the key in your earnings. Don’t keep on playing forever. Apply brakes once you win or lose above a certain limit.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Sure, you could have won more, but you pushed it pretty good and made a nice amount of money. Good for you, and he’s right! That’s a great way to start out gambling! I wish I had that luck when I first started.

Wow that is a great start and you walked away when you were up. I don’t think I did as good as you when I first started playing. I’ve greatly improved my game but it’s taken me a few years to get to where I am now.

I would play all night long if I had that sort of luck some day! You can’t win on all days and hence when you are winning you shouldn’t quit unless you loose considerable money. Think about it.

COngrats! You should have played longer because luck like that doesn’t pop up too often. Still, you quit while you were ahead and that was still a smart move. :O

That’s a great story and mind you, you are a lucky chap! I haven’t seen or heard many similar stories!
