A few months ago, a couple of my buddies and my girlfriend came over for a poker game. Since we were all sort of broke and could only buy some beer, we used candy and cookies and other edible things to ‘bet against.’ Not very manly, but it was worth it.
Well, my bud, Josh, started hittin’ the bottles a little more than he should have. He never played Poker before and we just finished explaining the rules to him. After a few rounds, he’s down to his last few pieces of sugar confections, and he goes all in. So we all shrug, and put half our pots in with his.
He gets a royal flush, so we’re sort of drawn back. We now also realized Josh is officially hammered, the whole drunken man thing. We re-shuffle, and deal out again. This time we all had severely bad hands and Josh one with three of a kind. We deal and Josh gets yet ANOTHER Royal flush!
We stopped playing after that, calling it quits. Josh then passed out on my couch. When he woke up the next morning, besides suffering a severe hangover, he said he couldn’t remember if we actually played poker or not. Poor guy - he just played amazing hands and can’t remember it.
Needless to say, we avoided playing Poker for quite some time afterwards.
Bizarre! I’m so tempted to drink and play now and have my friends monitor me! Tell your friend Josh to get drunk and go to Reno! He’ll make it, don’t worry.
In a situation like that, playing for cookies, then I wouldn’t have too many fears about playing drunk. But really he just lucked out, nothing more, so unless you think lady luck travels with the drunk then I would use this as a reason to do it!

Well I avoid mixing drinking and playing coz when I drink, I do it till extreme and similarly when I play, I play till limits. So mixing them would be lethal.

yeah, thank god you guys weren’t in a casino. I mean, you could have won money and all, but you could have lost so much and been in so much debt, you may not recover from it for a while. Maybe you should help limit your friends alcohol level.

Great luck pal but every one would not have it and in gambling it pays to be alert. So I would not suggest it.
Yeah, no kidding. I’d rather be aware when gambling than under the influence of alcohol. Your buddy may have gotten lucky… extremely lucky, but I’d totally advise against it.
Drunken gambling at home is a great site. Especially if it isn’t happening with money. Most of my friends drink while gambling at home but none do the same at a casino as real hard earned money is at stake!
