Blackjack rules vs. online casino rules

Blackjack rules differ from online casino rules. Oftentimes, many interchangeably
understand this and so confusion sets in.

Blackjack rules pertain to how you play the game. Under this context, you need to
know how the game works. For a quick review, blackjack’s main objective is to form
a hand with a value of twenty-one (21) or close to it. All cards retain their face
value, except for face cards. The latter automatically gets a value of
ten (10), whereas, the Ace takes a value of one or eleven, depending on the hand formed.

Meanwhile, when we speak of online casino rules, these can be fairly described
as scenario-based provisions that casino sites follow. For example, there are
online casinos, which permit an early surrender. There are others that allow you to split.

I think more accurate labels would be “Universal rules” and “Options”.  The universal rules describe how the game is played and as you noted include card values, the objective of having a higher total without exceeding 21, etc.  These rules are used in all casinos.

Options include doubling down (and under what circumstances the player can do so), splitting pairs (and how many times a player can do so), surrender (early, late, or not at all), payoffs for blackjack (3:2 or 6:5), etc.  These rules vary from casino to casino and indeed players should acquaint themselves with the ones the casino they are in is using since they impact strategy.
